12.17.2008 . Here are some pics from the final presentation for my thesis class. Presentations were held at my professor's firm in Downtown San Diego at the Harley Ellis Devereaux office. I can't explain how innerving this experience was...but thanks to those of you that pushed me, I was able to finish the class with an above average grade. Thank you all so much for helping me...From helping me with logos, pictures, putting my boards together, and most of all...keeping me sane...Well, somewhat. Thanks a million and good luck to my fellow interior designers...it's been an amazing time with you all!!

Exactly one year ago today...the girls you know as the "Bumsville Bitches", were blessed with a first hand experience of an accident that could have taken any one of their lives if it had happened any other way. Luckily the 3 of them walked away from it...

It all happened about 4pm...Terry, Anne, and myself were hanging out at Anne's old apartment by state. I had a family dinner to go to in Del Mar and needed to get going. I had parked my car in Anne's garage and the girls were helping me back out, as it was a one car garage in a very small parking lot. I was about half way out when I saw a car come flying at us, completely air born....

The picture above shows the scene of the accident minutes after it happened. The scariest part was that Anne was standing right where the car landed. From my view after the car landed I thought she was underneath it. I got out of my car and saw Terry on my right, I ran around to see Anne laying on the ground in shock trying to crawl away from the car that had landed at her feet. Terry and I helped her up and we ran away from the smoking car.

People who had seen or heard the accident called 911. They had to pull the elderly man who was driving that crashed, from his mangled car with the jaws of life through the roof of his car. The cops informed us that he was alive but non-responsive when they took him away in the ambulance. They also told us they believed he had gone into a diabetic coma while driving which was the cause of the accident. To this day I often wonder how he is. I wanted to try and somehow find out if he indeed was OK.

The 3 of us were a bit shaken to say the least. There were lots of tears and hugs, and Anne's neighbor DJ Effrin, helped calm us down with some mint mojitos.
The next day Anne and I went back to take some photos in the daylight and see the remains of the accident.

What a day. It was one of those experiences that changes your outlook on everything. Even if its for only a week, you breathe the air in a little bit deeper, take a longer look at a beautiful picture, savor that last bite of your favorite meal..and tell those you love, who make your life worth living, just how much you appreciate them.

I love you Bitches!

IFERN in DeQ

I've blogged about my friend Terry (aka IFERN) a few times now. I can't help it cause dude's a hardworker and he's definately making his way up in the world again with his amazing talent from skateboarding to painting to creating music.
Due to his amazing talent and rise back into the scene, Terry was recently featured in the new issue of DeQ Magazine, a new up and coming magazine that covers the underground life in Southern California, mainly concentrating on LA and the IE. Terry's been working crazy hard to produce shit to his fullest potential. He is currently out in New York living in a hotel room strictly to finish up a clothing line. He's a prime example of a person using their talent, passion, hard work, and determination to rise above the rest. I'm so proud...He's quite the inspiration for me to keep pushing myself to the max, plus some.

The girls and I were able to head up the Legend to catch a peek of Madonna's show she held at Petco Park last night. Madonna is the second performer to ever play at Petco, following The Rolling Stones. The show was massive and the park was completely packed. The line for entry passed Active Rideshop and went approximately 5 blocks down 7th ave. Madonna was all about Obama's win...his acceptance speech was aired on the big screen and right when he was done she made her appearance on stage. Here's a clip of her announcing his win...

Happy Monday all~ From yours truly all the way from Eugene, Oregon!!!! The colors are changing, the air is crisp and it just smells of fall! Its beautiful here. But I do miss sunny San Diego... Anyhow, I have been spending the last several weekends at the Kobey's Swap Meet. Many treasures can be found there. I felt compelled to share my most recent treasure find with you all!!!

Alright..I know it doesn't look like much but what you see before you is a cabinet, painted quite elaborately by its previous owner...Darcy Davidson. Everyone...this is Darcy...

When I saw the cabinet...it looked strange so I had to take a closer look. What I found inside were some of Darcy's special things...along with some photos...enjoy!!

It appears that Darcy was involved in Girl Scouts, enjoyed playing a little Ping Pong, and loved spending time with her girls!!!

Along with the photos were 2 Pochacco diaries, a paper back version of, "The Light in the Forrest", By: Conrad Richter (I remember reading that book in school)

Some beautiful post cards with the letters D,R,C AND Y....I am curious where the A is...

Some artwork from church displaying her commitment to her religion. WWJD? And a gold pendant...

Associated Students President James Poet was arrested Friday on suspicion of driving under the influence and for allegedly possessing marijuana.

San Diego State Police Department Lt. Lamine Secka said Poet was stopped for a traffic violation around 3:16 a.m. Friday on 55th Street while driving alone.

“Subsequent to that violation, the officer arrested Poet and charged him with a DUI and possession of marijuana,” Secka said.

Poet was taken to San Diego County Jail downtown, Secka said, just as any other person charged with a DUI would be.

“I do have some personal issues going on right now,” Poet said. “I do have a court date and hopefully I’m considered innocent until proven guilty.”

Vice President of Student Affairs at SDSU James Kitchen provided the following statement regarding Poet’s reported DUI:

“We are both shocked and disappointed at the news of James Poet’s arrest, which has the potential for serious consequences.” He added that Poet, like any other student accused of breaking the law, should be afforded due process and a chance to defend him or herself in court.

“James has made many significant contributions during his tenure as A.S. President for which we are appreciative. The Associated Students officers and staff will continue to carry out their leadership duties,” Kitchen said.

Poet said he plans on addressing his arrest and giving students all the facts about what happened at tomorrow’s A.S. Council meeting.

After the recent arrest of basketball star Lorrenzo Wade and last semester’s drug busts, the university is taking Poet’s arrest seriously.

“As a university we’re making efforts to change the culture here, but you can’t change culture overnight,” Greg Block, director of media relations and new media, said. “These are things that happen on college campuses everywhere, but these are also issues that the university takes very seriously.”

Secka said that the SDSU Police Department’s arresting officer will testify if Poet decides to go to trial.

“We’re not treating it any differently than any other DUI,” Secka said.

Poet said he hopes the situation doesn’t overshadow his commitment to SDSU.

“I really think Associated Students has accomplished some amazing things over the past year and a half — and I’ve been a big part of that process,” he said. “I would like the opportunity to redeem myself and to regain the students’ trust.”

May I Absorb Some Of Your Brain Knowledge & Skills?

As most of you know, I’m in the process of completing my thesis project for Interior Design. I’ve been completely M.I.A. since I got back to school and I miss you all dearly. While I get deeper into this project, I’m realizing I might need to borrow some people’s brain knowledge for a bit to complete it as I imagine. I have come up with an amazing idea to present my final thesis in December.

I’m asking for anyone with graphic design skills to teach me a few things…I’m only talking about a few basics…how to drop pictures of actual people into other images. Lighting, brushing photos up, rah rah rah…I promise I’m a quick learner…I used to know how to use photoshop, but my skills are a tad bit rusty..so anyone that can help me to polish em up, that would be amazing.

Also, I need someone that knows how to do video production and bizznazz like that. I have no idea how this stuff works, but I wanna be able to cut and paste video clips together, add in additional pictures, text, music, and blah blah blah…pretty much I wanna make a super short video.

...I feel weird saying this, but I might need a couple model/actors/actresses as well. hahaha. Let me know if you want in...and i'll let you know what's going on in my head. It's nothing crazy big, I just wanna take pictures, and do a short video clip....it definately wont take long to do.

This project been the main priority of my life lately, and it will continue to be so until I present it in December. I would love for any of your creative minds to share this learning experience with me…I know that together, some of us could produce some crazy shit together. I know I have handfuls of super talented friends and it's true, together we are super friends. Every little bit of information I can learn right now from any of you would totally help. I will be as flexible as you need me to with times. I probably wont start all of this until 3-4 weeks from now..but I kinda wanna see who can help now...

FYI…If you can help any bit, I’ll rub your feet every Sunday night (except for holidays) and make you peanut butter jelly sandwiches on the daily. I'll even make em with bananas on weekends.

Let me know what you're thinken in that cute little brain of yours.

Instead of having a regular class session at SDSU. My thesis class met in downtown at 777 J St, where the San Diego showroom for Bulthaup Kitchens is located. The San Diego location is #17 out of the 500 that are located throughout the world. Designs that Bulthaup produce are known to be ahead of their time. Bulthaup is a highly innovative company that stabilizes itself on Bauhaus principles including: functionality, aesthetic, and client needs. It is clearly apparent in Bulthaup's designs that "form follows function". Bulthaup mainly concentrates their focus on the materials they use in their products and how to manipulate them. Minimalism is a constant approach in design for Bulthaup. Hidden compartmentalization behind the sink and other hidden areas create for a highly user-friendly and space saving kitchen. A Relaxing Day in San Diego

While Terry snuck away to San Francisco to visit Jaque this past weekend...Back in Bumsville, Michelle and I were graced with Dan's presence. We tried our best to show him a couple small wonders of San Diego.

First off, we made an hour long visit to Seaworld...We tried the whole buyer's pass loophole bizznazz, but it didn't pan out the way we had hoped, therefore we couldn't re-enter the park...but it was a good time regardless.

Within that hour Michelle was able to go to second base with the stingrays...
Yeah, I captured the epic moment with my camera. No big deal.

Luckily, before we left we got a snapshot with a live polar bear!! Yay for us.
After our quick trip to Seaworld, we ended up at Balboa Park...Balboa Park is the place where you just let the architecture and environment speak for itself. It needs no words. Here's a few snapshots we took while we absorbed it all in...

Ah, I wish more photos were taken, but it's all good. Twas a beautiful day in San Diego. It was nice to take a quick break from the craziness in our everyday life. The day was completely relaxing and refreshing.

I guess sometimes you just gotta take the time to embrace your current enivornment and breathe...slow time down for a bit & just enjoy it all. There's a beautiful world out there. Some of us don't even take the time to realize what's in front of our faces...We just passerby without thought because we're so absorbed with our daily routines.

Well folks...it is Sunday afternoon. The weekend is just about over. Its a beautiful day, and I should be outside, but thats ok....
This weekend was pretty quiet...Friday Street Scene rolled into town. It only being a few blocks from us we could hear the music all weekend...pretty cool. Anne snuck away to LA and the rest of us hit U31.

Once we headed home there was much fun to be had for the sober ones. Toe-Knee made a bit of a mess... Details won't be posted but you can all enjoy the pictures and decide what you think happened...I LOVE YOU TOE-KNEE....Julz SAVED the day...

And with a SMILE on his face!!!! THANKS JULZ.......A few friends strolled through and got to witness the mess...oh what fun....Once we unclogged the sink..the dishes needed to be taken out and HOSED OFF!!! After several more rounds of hosing, they got washed in the dishwasher 3 times!!!!! And after it all, I personally told Julz he had MY permission to tag Toe-Knee with the sharpies, he agreed it would be sweet revenge, but decided to give him a bear hug instead. Thanks for a fantastic night guys. Legs out.

Bumsville Family Dinner

It was time to have more family bonding with some compadres of ours...so we thought it would be perfect to have a bunch of people over for dinner. Thanks to everyone that made it out...We truely enjoyed feeding all your stomachs and making you all go into food comas. We're gonna try to have get togethers a lot more often so that everyone can stay in touch more often and just get away from the rest of our busy lives to just relax, enjoy good company, and eat delicious food.

On the menu for the night, chips and a variety of different dips...ranging from pico de gallo, a house salsa, salsa con queso, spinich artichoke dip, caesar salad, chicken & eggplant parmigiana, mashed potatoes, spanish/green beans, spaghetti, rice crispy treats, brownie bites, banana splits, and key lime pie.

Geez louise, that's a lot of food. So gross. haha.

Let's Get Together Again

Just recently it seemed as if it's been a while since a core group of the Bumsville Bitches friends have gotten together and hung out. Recently, our contact with each other felt like it was nothing more than a five minute hello. Greets everyone! Just wanted to update you guys on what's going on in my life.

Its been an interesting year to say the least. I moved Downtown a few months ago to Bumsville with three amazingly beautiful young ladies: Annabelle, Terry, and Michelle. We've shared so many crazy and fun memories in the short time we've known each other. We've all grown into a happy family.

Yeah, we've been missing from the San Diego scene for a hot minute. Thing is, Jaqs hasn't been around So Cal this often for a long time coming now.
